Diagnosis

Diagnosis_Species: Cachon and Caram. Motile cell naked, mean dimensions: 4 fLm long x 2 fLm wide, markedly asymmetric dorsoventrally. Normally one flagellum, two in period of reproduction, none in winter. One cup-shaped chloroplast with spherical pyrenoid covered by a continuous starch sheath. No eyespot, no scales. One single mitochondrion and one small dictyosome. Habitat: Mediterranean Sea, constantly present in the jelly of radiolarian host Thalassolampe.
