Diagnosis

Coats et al. 2012: Kim et al. (2010) recently characterized the infraciliature and of a tintinnid identified as Favella ehrenbergii. In considering related species, the authors recommended submerging F. panamensis as a junior synonym of F. ehrenbergii. Kofoid & Campbell raised to species status many forms previously and correctly designated as morphological varities of other species.
